China Trade & Market Data
Find foreign investment, country-level trade, commodity import and export, and related market statistics for China and selected markets.
What you can do
- Look up investment statistics by year or country and region.
- Find trade records by period, country or region, and import or export flow.
- Find commodity trade statistics by period and metric.
- Retrieve records for multiple periods for comparison.
When to use
Use when you have a statistical year or period and the country, region, commodity or trade-flow conditions required by the relevant query.
Information returned
- Statistical periods, countries or regions and commodity categories
- Recorded trade flow, value, quantity or weight
- Units, measures and source-table references where recorded
- Collected investment amounts, shares or ranks
Use cases
- Review the geographic sources of investment in a selected year.
- Find trade records between China and a selected country or region.
- Retrieve import or export statistics for a commodity across recorded periods.
How to use
Ask your agent a relevant question. It can use this Skill to retrieve structured information as needed and use that information in its response.
Example questions
- Find trade statistics between China and [country or region] for [period].
- What import statistics are recorded for [commodity] in [period]?
- Show investment statistics by source region for [year].
- List the same trade metric for [period A] and [period B].
Query notes
- No match does not mean that trade or investment was zero.
- Statistical queries require a year or period; some also require country, commodity or trade flow.
- Countries, periods and measures match recorded labels; commodity text follows the relevant tool literal-substring rule.
- Definitions and units can differ. The service does not automatically add, convert or compare observations across periods.
Frequently asked questions
What does no match mean?
No collected records were returned for the supplied conditions. This does not establish that the information does not exist in the real world.
How many records can be returned?
Each call returns at most 100 records. Pagination has a supported range, and matching records and record-release boundaries also limit the result.
What period and country format is accepted?
Use recorded period and country/region labels. Arbitrary date formats and all country aliases are not automatically converted.
Can I compare multiple periods?
Collected observations can be queried separately by period, but no server-side tool automatically computes cross-period comparisons.
What happens with incomplete input or an unavailable service?
Missing required input or unacceptable values prevent completion. Temporary unavailability and query boundaries are reported as corresponding outcomes.
Capability boundaries
- There is no server-side cross-period comparison tool or automatic harmonization of statistical definitions and units.
- Only collected periods are queryable; arbitrary date-range calculations and historical database snapshot selection are not provided.
