Create, edit, validate, import, render, or convert professional documents with Autype Extended Markdown and the Autype CLI...
Use Autype Extended Markdown as the document source and the autype CLI for discovery, validation,
rendering, imports, conversions, and reusable resources. JSON is reserved for reusable style
definitions and normal command parameters; never author document content as Document JSON.
This skill is the portable CLI-based Autype workflow. A connected Autype MCP server exposes and documents its own capabilities, so do not infer MCP tool names or reproduce MCP instructions from this skill.
autype CLI when it is installed and the environment authorizes shell and network use..mdd source and explain that server validation, rendering, and
visual verification remain pending. Never claim an unrendered document passed QA.Run autype doctor --json when connectivity or credentials are uncertain. Do not install software,
authenticate, or send content externally without the authority normally required by the active agent
environment.
For capability selection, read references/capabilities.md, then only the relevant part of references/workflows.md. For exact commands, read references/cli-reference.md.
.mdd file and validate/render it directly..mdd file. Keep document settings, variables, style reference,
abbreviations, and citations in a separate JSON or YAML file and pass it with --data.Do not embed a long document in JSON or a shell argument. A local file remains inspectable, diffable, and token-efficient throughout the workflow.
stylePresetId or --style value over inline defaults or repeated
element-level formatting.Standard headings, paragraphs, ordered and unordered lists, task lists (- [ ] and - [x]),
blockquotes, links, images, fenced code, and pipe tables need no reference lookup. For an
Autype-specific extension, run autype syntax TOPIC or search
references/markdown-syntax.md and read only the matching section.
Relevant topics include variables, fields, layouts, page sections, charts, diagrams, references,
citations, directories, canvases, and reusable blocks.
JSON schema discovery is only for reusable styling. Start with the compact style scaffold and local validation; inspect a focused schema leaf only when validation reports a specific error. For reusable styles, page variants, headers/footers, backgrounds, or page objects, read references/style-authoring.md.
For a final artifact:
Treat an avoidable sparse trailing page or an isolated short list/table continuation as a layout defect unless the page is intentionally separate. Validation proves source correctness, not visual quality. Before declaring a rendered artifact complete, read references/quality-checks.md and apply the relevant checks.
