Important Update About Smithery Hosting
We're rebuilding our hosting platform from the ground up. In the meantime, however, we've made the tough decision to move on from our current free hosting plan. Here's what that means for free plan customers:
- Your server(s) will remain live until March 1st, 2026. New deployments will no longer go through on free plans.
- To continue listing on Smithery, you will need to upgrade your plan to host on Smithery, or register an external server for free.
- Insights in the Observability tab will continue to be free for both servers hosted on Smithery and external servers.
When you view a server page for a server you own, you will see the above modal, prompting you to upgrade your plan or register an external server.
Why We're Making This Change
Transparently, our current hosting has architectural constraints that prevent us from delivering the high-quality experience our users deserve. Rather than patching it, we're rebuilding it the right way.
We're piloting new hosting infrastructure with paid customers. It's been rebuilt from the ground up based on everything we've learned, and we're rapidly iterating and can't wait to show you something that truly innovates.
